Yoga Nidra is an extraordinarily rejuvenating, nourishing and uplifting practice. It is effortless. You may know it as 'the nice chilled out bit' at the end of your yoga class! This four hour workshop celebrates yoga nidra in all its forms. It will lift your spirits, boost your energy levels, help you chill out, so that you leave feeling both totally revitalised and absolutely at peace with yourself. All you need to do is NOTHING AT ALL – simply lie
comfortably under your blanket and listen! It's absolutely one of the best returns on a minimum investment anyone will ever give you.

A unique set of yoga nidra practices will be shared in this workshop, each one specially responsive to the needs and interest of the group. If you attended the yoga nidra workshop in March and enjoyed it, you are warmly invited to return to experience a wider spectrum of yoga nidra experiences that will not be the same as those offered in March. Because Uma and Nirlipta have over forty years combined experience of sharing yoga nidra, none of their work is pre-scripted, and each yoga nidra is uniquely appropriate to the needs of those people present at the time: this means every workshop is different, and returning studnets find further depth and interest in the experience of yoga nidra with each session.

The term yoga nidra literally means yogic sleep, and regular practice of yoga nidra supports deep rest, relieves insomnia and promotes good quality sleep, but it also offers an astonishingly wide range of benefits at all dimensions of being…

Yoga nidra, used therapeutically, is a highly effective practice for pain management and stress reduction. It also boosts fertility and promotes positive mental and menstrual health…

Yoga nidra increases productivity, boosts creativity and problem solving, enhances relationships and supports spiritual practices of all kinds. It can also include a sankalpa, or heart's prayer that serves to focus your energies on your higher purpose, or to provide direction and motivation for achieving short term goals.

During this four hour workshop you will experience a range of different practices of yoga nidra, each specially designed to explore the positive benefits of yoga nidra. There will be time for questions, and an opportunity to begin to develop your own yoga nidra practice.

All the recordings from the afternoon's programme will be made available to participants for home listening through the www.yoganidranetwork.org

This workshop is suitable for everyone, from yoga nidra enthusiasts, to people who have never done yoga before. In fact, it is the ideal introduction to yoga workshop for any cynics or curious partners, spouses and family members or flat-sharers who wonder what it is that you do in your yoga classes! Bring them along and they will be favourably impressed by the wonders of yoga nidra. All that is required is the ability to rest under a blanket, be comfortable and be able to hear the instructions. There is no physical movement during yoga nidra, but during the afternoon programme there will be gentle movement and stretching to enhance comfort and improve energy flow. An abundance of props are provided, but if you have a favourite blanket or shawl that you like to use for meditation or yoga nidra, then please bring that along, and feel totally at home.
