Three Day Morning Mysore Practice
With Petri Raisanen
15–17 December 2017, 07:00–09:00
Three days of special Mysore classes with guest teacher Petri Raisanen that will follow the traditional method of learning/practising the Ashtanga method.
You will have the opportunity to deepen and develop your asana technique and practice, whilst being guided through methods of approaching the more challenging postures.
Ashtanga Yoga is often defined as an intense, athletic, and dynamic form of yoga. In many ways this is true, though Ashtanga does much more than strengthen and stretch the body. By practicing with awareness of the breath, the drsti (gazing point), and the bandhas (energy locks), one can develop a sense of consciousness in both the body and the mind. According to Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga Yoga is a path that leads us to the spirit that resides in all of us, and is in fact our very nature.
Join Petri in 3 gentle, effective and therapeutic morning led Mysore classes. His style according to some is almost magical, and originates (besides his own practice and teachings) from his past work as a traditional Finnish folk healer and naturopath. His friendly, relaxed nature and intuivite perception gives an open, energetic and meditative atmosphere to his classes.
Petri will also be hosting Nadi Sodhana: Ashtanga Intermediate Series Workshop (£35) on 16 December. Join him for both the 3 Day Morning Mysore Classes & Workshop for the special price of £100.
