The Power of Gratitude, Breath and Backbends

Gratitude is the quality of being thankful, or grateful. An attitude of Gratitude can help us see our situation in a way that lessens panic and fear. It can strengthen relationships, reduce stress, make us happier, even help improve sleep, health and productivity. It’s not airy-fairy at all.
In this workshop, Anita will share ways that you can cultivate [more] gratitude in your life, and explore ways yoga can support you.
Anita will take you through a Goa [Yoga] Flow practice to open your heart and connect to your breath. Backward bends and breathing will be the main focus of this workshop, as they together help open your heart and focus your mind to you access your inner gratitude.
Anita will break down the various categories of backbends, help you find your breath and your best position within them to transform. Recognising where you are willing, and where you might experience resistance, is essential. If you hate backward bends, find them challenging, maybe even painful, this will be very helpful and life transforming.
In a light and fun way we will explore the theory and the application of Gratitude, Breath & Backbends through a moving meditative flow with plenty of space to explore all the ways we feel grateful.
It’s Anita’s intention to leave you feeling equipped to integrate gratitude into your life so you can experience the power it has to support your flow on and off the yoga mat.
Anita encourages you to bring something that you are grateful for that can be a part of the altar that we will build together (i.e. picture, quote, book, piece of jewelry, flowers, crystal).
