Yoga makes you feel better! But what exactly is yoga? And why is it so beneficial to body and mind?
 
If you are keen to find out, join a small (maximum 10) group of fellow enquirers on this 6 week course. Discover the importance of breath, learn some of the main foundational yoga postures (asanas) and basic sequences as well as exploring the historical background to yoga. A focus on healthy movement and alignment principles will help build strength and flexibility; simple breathing practices (pranayama) and an introduction to meditation and yogic relaxation practices will encourage your mind to a calmer, more focussed place.

You will receive personal attention from an experienced teacher, working at a pace that encourages learning in a safe and fun way. Each week builds on the previous week, and you will be encouraged to explore some of the practices at home in your own time.

This course is a great way to begin, or to refresh, your practice: it is open to people of all ages (from 18 upwards), shapes, and sizes, and there is no need to bring anything, apart from an open mind and sense of humour.

On completion of the course you will have the experience, confidence and knowledge to attend any of The Life Centre’s Yoga Level 1 or Level 1-2 classes.

This 6 week course introduces the classic body of yoga postures (asanas) and basic sequences, including sun salutations. A focus on healthy alignment principles and an introduction to breathing practices (pranayama) will help build strength, flexibility and create a foundation for your yoga practice.

In this course, students will receive personal attention from an experienced teacher week to week providing an ideal environment for learning.  Building upon the core poses and working at a pace that ensures learning, students will build strength and knowledge, as well as cultivate greater mental clarity and calm. The Beginner Course is way to begin your practice and discover yoga in a safe and fun space.  Perfect for beginners, people who like to learn sequentially or anyone looking to revisit the fundamentals of yoga.
