Emily brings Ayurvedic wisdom on health and well being to published author and cookery school founder Chloe Coker’s skilled cookery and nutritional knowledge. Together they bring you an exceptional opportunity on this four day retreat. Discover delicious recipes and meals that you, your friends and family can enjoy; learn inspiring tips for bringing greater well-being in to your daily life.

What to expect:

Morning practices: Emily will guide the “Daily essentials” morning practices – this includes an asana sequence, meditation and pranayama practices. After breakfast there will be an hour each day spending time connecting with the garden and land. This includes selecting fresh seasonal foods from the garden.

The practical cooking sessions will be guided by published cook Chloe Coker (founder of Roundtable Cookery and author of The Vegetarian Pantry).

Each day between 10am -12pm, one half of the group will prepare the lunch meal with Chloe whilst the other half will gather with Emily (outside, weather permitting) to discuss how to integrate the principles of Ayurveda in to everyday living and enjoy time off to walk or have massage treatments. The groups then switch for the dinner meal of the day.

Key topics for discussion can include:
• Ayurveda’s approach to healthy digestion;
• How to support and sustain overall health;
• How to cultivate every day well being in modern day lifestyles.

Ayurveda sees a healthy digestion as a sign of good health. When you can digest your food – you can digest your thoughts and emotions. Basically you can digest your daily LIFE experiences.

Each evening time there will be a centering meditation and a mid-summer agni hotra fire ritual to mark the sunset.

Transformative Yoga Holiday in Umbria, Italy

Schedule
Arrival day is Saturday 28th July 2018 and will begin with a welcome session short practice late afternoon. Morning sessions will be a dynamic mixture of stillness and movement incorporating pranayama and meditation and will be at 8am for approx. 2.5 hours. You are then free for the day to relax by the pool, enjoy a massage, explore the countryside, visit a nearby lake or local historical villages, or thermal baths until the late afternoon session at 5.00pm (there will be snacks!) for approx. 1.5 – 2 hours which will be a mellow, soothing and nurturing practice, delving into areas such as yin yoga, restoratives, pranayama, chakras and meditation. Accommodation
Single, double, or triple rooms are available. All rooms are ensuite and have a wisteria clad terrace overlooking the gardens. Rooms are simple yet charming and furnished in typical Umbrian style, with individual thermostats, terracotta floors, wooden ceiling beams and brick walls. All rooms are renovated with the most innovative natural architectural criteria: only natural mortar, paint and wax; no electromagnetic fields thanks to electric circuit breakers; water is heated by a solar panel system and electricity is generated by photovoltaic panels.

Cuisine
The food at La Locanda della Quercia Calante is fabulous, and being typical of Umbria and Tuscany, is based on local products, made fresh daily, and 90% organically grown on the Locanda della Quercia Calante farm. Meals can be both with meat or all vegetarian. For those who wish to partake the wine list is also carefully selected and includes quality wines from small local vineyards. La Locanda can be reached by train from Rome’s Termini Station (accessible by train from Rome Fiumicino airport) to Orvieto and taxi from Orvieto station to La Locanda, or we will offer a shuttle bus pick up and drop off to/from the Rome Fiumicino airport (approx 12:00pm departure from airport, check-in 2:30 pm to La Locanda). The theme of the week will be embodying the 5-life-giving Elements, both on and off the mat. Each morning will begin with a slow, yet strong flow practice where we will deconstruct each Element and apply it to our everyday lives. THE YOGA

EARTH DAY (Thursday PM)
Landing on your feet…as you arrive in your new home for the next 5 days we will work on establishing your foundation to experience stability and ease through feet, legs and into the pelvis where your Muladhara (Root) Chakra resides. Find your home away from home.

WATER DAY (Friday AM & PM)
Tap into your femininity to embody fluidity, connection and adaptability. Like a river that runs free, we will create our own course of flow through a practice based around the Chakra of sensuality, Swadhisthana. Expect deep hip releases and work in the lower spine.

FIRE DAY (Saturday AM & PM)
We enter the peak of our retreat working on the fire element – this is where transformation really begins. Working on developing heat and energy to spur us into focus and action. We call on Manipura Chakra in the solar plexus to purify and strengthen the core and tap into the thousands of meridians residing in our bellies. Time to burn away our self-limiting beliefs!

AIR DAY (Sunday AM & PM)
After purification, comes a sense of expansion and lightness. We have created space for movement of Prana (life force) in our physical, emotional and mind bodies and so we invite love and trust into the heart centre where Anahata Chakra sits. We will work on heart-opening postures and back bends to nourish the spine and glow with love.

SPACE DAY (Monday AM)
At last we have reached the final step of our involutionary ladder. We learn from the past 4 days and feel our way into our intuition, connection, expansiveness, consciousness and our authentic truth. We speak from Vishuddha Chakra, located in the throat and allow this element to inform and support us as we make our journey back home.

THE VILLA

Set in the sloping hills outside Madrid, El Molino is a stunning property surrounded by nature. With beautifully landscaped gardens, a luxurious swimming pool and stunning views from the veranda, you will find yourself immersed in the perfect conditions to fully unwind and let go. Bedrooms are tastefully decorated, quiet and cool even in the Summer months.

Transformative Yoga Retreat in Almeria, Spain

Join senior teacher Jeff Phenix for an amazing and inspiring week of yoga and meditation in stunning Almeria, which is Spain’s sunniest region and one of the least visited.

Its proximity to North Africa means that the area is semi-desert, dry and dramatic, with imposing mountains and dazzling sea. The venue is on the edge of one of Europe’s most remote and beautiful natural parks, the Cabo de Gata, one of the last unspoiled stretches of Spanish coastline, which is an amazing landscape of perfect half-moon bays, hidden coves, bizarre volcanic rock formations, and spectacular flora and fauna.

The venue is in a peaceful, isolated location, but within walking distance of the lovely traditional local village of Nijar, which can be seen across the valley at the foot of the spectacular mountain backdrop.

The venue sits in the semi-desert landscape amid lush gardens, its architecture echoing ancient Mediterranean civilizations. It has two swimming pools, one of which is a striking natural pool, fed by spring water and filtered by reed beds. It consists of the main Finca which holds a number of the bedrooms as well as the outlying Cortijo (farm) buildings have been converted in the original local style into charming accommodation, located a couple of hundred yards from the main house. Yoga will take place in a fully equipped covered outdoor yoga space.

Schedule

Arrival day is Saturday 25th August 2018 and will begin with a welcome session and short practice late afternoon for those whose flights permit it. Morning sessions will be a dynamic mixture of stillness and movement incorporating pranayama and meditation and will be at 8am for approx. 2.5 – 3 hours. You are then free for the day to relax by the pool, enjoy a massage, explore the countryside, visit a village or take a trip to the local beach until the late afternoon session at 5.00pm (there will be snacks!) for approx. 1.5 – 2 hours which will be a mellow, soothing and nurturing practice, delving into areas such as yin yoga, restoratives, pranayama, chakras and meditation. There will be one afternoon off yoga during the week to allow for an optional longer excursion. Options include a trip to a beautiful local beach, the stunning nearby Cabo de Gata national park, the city of Almeria (30 mins drive from the Finca) which contains the 10th century Alcazabar fortified complex and is the largest Muslim fortress in Spain and its impressive Cathedral, or the spa of Sierra Alhamilla, with its healing hot springs, which was first built by the Phoenicians in 300BC, and later used by the Romans when Spain was part of the Roman Empire. Various beauty treatments are available. (45 minutes drive from the Finca). Departure day is Saturday 1st September 2018.

Getting there
Almeria airport is less than half an hour from the Finca and is served by Easyjet, Monarch and Ryanair.
Taxis are €50 one-way and can carry 4, so if you can travel at the same time as others it can work out at €25 total for round-trip transfers. I will arrange transfers for you, let me know your flights once you have booked and I will put people together as much as possible.

You will have the option to spend your final night on the mountains in a Tipi outside the Alpenblick Restaurant.

Kids activities include (age 4-14):

Location
The Tschuggen Grand Hotel is located in Arosa, a very easy 2.5 hour drive from Zurich International Airport (closest airport) or a slightly longer train ride from Zurich. On confirmation of your booking we will be able to assist with in the logistics of your trip.

Sicily, the eternal crossroads of the Mediterranean, continues to seduce visitors with its dazzling diversity of landscape, food & cultural treasures. Where better to prolong the summer?

This will be our first yoga adventure to Sicily. It is an island that we have had on our yoga retreat destination wish list for a very long time. We were contacted by the owners of a retreat centre near Taormina & it seems as though they are offering us the perfect fit.

Our Sicilian home for the yoga week, is located just 10 kilometers from Taormina where we can enjoy the retreat’s beachfront position, overlooking one of the most beautiful beaches on the Ionian Coast. The retreat is set in charming Mediterranean gardens, with terraces furnished with comfortabe sofas surrounded by jasmine & bougainvillea. Here we can enjoy the late summer sunshine, clear warm sea, individual cottage style accommodation, delicious healthy Sicilian food & maybe a little local wine!

Join Jeff Phenix for a full schedule and spectrum of yoga practices at St Katharines, Parmoor, an historic Victorian Country Manor near Marlow in Buckinghamshire.

The Parmoor estate, which dates back to the 15th century, was once owned by the Knights Templar and is situated in the picturesque and verdant Chiltern Hills. This peaceful, rural retreat is easily accessible from London and is set within lovely grounds, there are beautiful local walks and the fresh and delicious vegetarian food is is always of a high standard, with some ingredients coming straight from the estates walled garden. This special and unspoilt environment offers an ideal setting for spiritual practice and will give you the chance to immerse yourself in yoga, recharge and relax and enjoy the peaceful and natural surroundings.

Yoga classes take place in the large hall, an atmospheric space, with wood floor, characterful wood panelled walls, lovely natural light and views out onto the garden.

Schedule

Arrival is on Friday afternoon from 4pm and our schedule together starts with a short evening yoga class at 6pm before dinner and an evening meditation afterwards. Saturday morning will begin with pranayama and meditation at 7.30am before breakfast and a longer more vigorous ‘yang’ style morning session from 10.30am until lunch at 1pm. You will then be free for a few hours to relax or explore the surrounding countryside before we have a mellower more ‘yin’ style class at 5pm. After dinner there will be a short meditation. Sunday morning will be the same format until we are free to leave after lunch re-charged and revitalised or stay a bit longer and enjoy the countryside.

Ashtanga Yoga Holiday in Goa

Join Joyce and Marcos at a beautiful boutique beachfront resort for an Ashtanga Yoga Holiday. Accommodation will be in rustic luxury cottages set within a lush coconut grove with a jungle feel, but just moments from the sea.

The first class will be a restorative class at 3pm on Monday 26 November. This will give time for you to explore the beach, transition into your new environment and overcome any jet lag. Thereafter there will be five Ashtanga Mysore practices in the mornings and a led class to close the week. There will be three morning conferences/technique classes and four afternoon restorative and meditation sessions. Sunsets are magical in Goa so where possible we will structure the retreat to give you the opportunity to enjoy them.

There will be plenty of time to relax on the beach, enjoy an Ayurvedic treatment, or hire a moped/taxi and head to one of the local markets or explore the countryside.
