Winter Nourishment for Body, Mind & Soul

With Elisa and Dominic Williams
North Kerala
16–24 Feb 2019

North Kerala remains untouched by mass tourism, the hidden jewel in India’s crown. Our beach side boutique hotel, with its delightful well tended grounds & swimming pool, stylish bungalows, great food & warm welcome is the perfect place to escape the winter chill & the madding crowds. Join us here for 8 starry nights & 9 sunshine days of self-care & discovery on the deserted shores of the Arabian Sea.

On our 8 day yoga in Kerala retreat we will immerse ourselves in a whole range of relaxing activities, including optional morning and evening yoga in the purpose built shaded yoga shala overlooking the sea. Morning walks along Northern Kerala’s swathes of almost deserted, white sandy beaches.

As a group we can enjoy peaceful boat rides watching the abundant wildlife in Kerala’s northern backwaters, dine in the open air on wonderful freshly prepared Keralan and Southern Indian cuisine and swim in the blood warm waters of the Arabian Sea and the resort’s gorgeous pool.

We practice yoga twice a day in the morning and late afternoon in the shaded yoga shala set in among the palm trees overlooking the sea. There is also opportunity for meditation on the tranquil shores of the Arabian Sea watching the setting sun.

The yoga classes will comprise the spectrum between slow flow and deeply restorative yoga gently and yin. You can do as much or as little as you please.

The 10 yoga practices arranged throughout the week will be of varying lengths and content. There is never any pressure for guests to take part in every yoga class and non-participating partners are most welcome on the holidays.

The morning yoga sessions on our Kerala yoga retreat will comprise more flowing yoga practices, with modifications offered to suit the individual levels of students. There will also be pranayama (breathing techniques) and guided meditation and relaxation. The late afternoon/ early evening yoga classes will include a slower asana practice, with some poses held longer for deepening, yin yoga, gentle and restorative sessions, again with pranayama, guided relaxations, yoga nidra and meditations.

12 Night Yoga Immersion

With Margherita Dal Pra & Collette Davies
The Shala Ubud Bali
26 Mar – 7 Apr 2019

Establish a daily practice and immerse in mantra, pranayama, kriya, meditation, contemplation and journaling. Take in two hours of asana each morning followed by yin or restorative at night. Rest by the pool or attend optional study modules throughout the day. This can be an extended 12 day retreat or a 100-hour qualification. For students, teachers and anyone interested in the path of awakening.

Cocooned amongst the rice paddies, The Shala Bali will be our immersion home for 12 special days. Remote, but close enough to central Ubud, it is pure peace and quiet. The jungle comes alive, as the sun rises, and the days float by amongst the dragonflies, ducks, geckos and birds.

We have our own private pool, an onsite organic café, 8 twin bungalows and a stunning shala that opens out onto the altar of nature. A deep dive into asana, mantra, meditation, pranayama, nutrition, self-inquiry, philosophy, anatomy and yogic lifestyle.
An immersion that counts towards a TT with no pressure to teach. One that’s rich in knowledge but for your own curiosity. That’s packed full of practices to strengthen your energy body and led by world-class teachers to leave you inspired and informed. A way to go deeper and go back into the world feeling resourced and awake.

The accommodation is deeply comfortable so you can fully restore, and the shala is in the middle of the rice fields, surrounded by nature, in the spiritual heart of Bali. We also have our own on-site café, a beautiful pool and an Ayurvedic spa where you can be oiled and massaged and cared for.

Nowhere is the interdependence or our physical, mental, emotional and environmental health so clearly demonstrated than in 42 Acres food. The highest quality food must nourish all of these – and still be deliciously tasty!
42 Acres chef, Mark Mabon is a self-taught, 20-year explorer of world foods and health systems … “I’ve been catering (and participating in) retreats for 15 years and understand the central role that food can play within them. I am proud your food will nourish, comfort and delight through your journey, serving as a constant reminder of life’s ever present love and abundance.”
Kitchen philosophy
Firstly, always a relaxed, happy kitchen environment.
Everything is home made!

Working with many small sale artisan growers and producers including:
• World-class organic goat, sheep and cow dairy (many raw products).
• 100% organic sourdough bakers including gluten free bread.
All oils cold-pressed and organic: celtic sea salt only; 100% sugar free kitchen.
Chef’s own sauerkrauts, ferments and pickles All organic ingredients except where absolutely not possible.

Samavesa was conceived by Margherita Dal Pra and Collette Davis. Two yoga teachers, born on the same day, few years apart. We met on a 300 hour TT with Sianna Sherman in Berlin and came together out of a shared desire to support yoga students and teachers in their own inquiry, process and practice.
With so many teacher trainings out there, we didn’t want to create another but we did want to offer a strong container for serious study. Where students can deepen their knowledge, and teachers can find respite, inspiration and a return to their own sadhana.

So we created an experience that has no real agenda. A deep dive into asana, mantra, meditation, pranayama, nutrition, self-inquiry, philosophy, anatomy and yogic lifestyle.
An immersion that counts towards a Teacher Training with no pressure to teach. One that’s rich in knowledge but for your own curiosity. That’s packed full of practices to strengthen your energy body and led by world-class teachers to leave you inspired and informed. A way to go deeper, be inspired and go back into the world feeling resourced and awake.

Some recent testimonials from the January Women’s Retreat in India 2019:

“Erika Tourell isn’t just a “yoga teacher”, she is so much more on every level. The experience gained on her magical Goa retreat exceeds any other class or retreat I have been to. I have gained a stronger physical, mental and spiritual practice thanks to Erika.”

“I feel invigorated and like a humble warrior i bow my head low in deep respect for not only your knowledge but generosity of spirit in sharing it and, by proxy, yourself with us. i am happy to have found you and to have plugged back in to the Source again through your teachings. i somehow sensed from the first class of yours that i attended in Notting Hill that i had discovered a multi-dimensional being and not just someone relaying yogic principles, but an authentic practitioner with an invested insight into what you do and how you teach. i am very grateful for all you have shared.”

Heaven on Earth Retreat

With Erika Tourell
Sharpham House, Devon
10–12 May 2019

You are invited to join us for a Spring weekend of movement and stillness, silence and sound, activity and rest on the glorious Sharpham Estate in south Devon.

Give yourself a beauty break by joining us for a wonderful weekend of yoga, meditation, singing, nature walks, delectable vegetarian/vegan cuisine, great company and so much more.

Movement is a vital celebration of life. It is a way to proclaim your own existence and relish in the joy of being alive.

Our bodies love movement. When we stretch or dance, our bodies adjust, realign and start to become fluid with the rhythm of life. Our mood lifts and we feel more connected with the world around us. By giving your muscles a chance to do what they were created for, you may find that all areas of your body and your life benefit as well.

Imagine how freeing it would feel to trust your body’s movements completely, knowing it has a perfect strength and rhythm of its own. See if you can sense your bones providing graceful support, your muscles and tendons expanding and contracting in just the right measure, your lungs changing pace to fill deeply with fresh air.

Weather permitting we will spend as much of our time outdoors as we can!

The wonderful Michael Stanton will be joining us to provide live music over the weekend.

There will be an excellent massage therapist and craniosacral therapist available for sessions over the weekend at affordable prices.

Nurture & Restore Retreat

With Jess Wood
4–8 Jun 2019

This 5 day immersion will introduce you and guide you through mediation, breath work, chanting and different yoga disciplines. It’s a time for you to truly unwind and let go off all the stuff that has manifested in the body and mind. It’s an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and reset.

There is no hiding the fact that modern life takes it’s toll on our nervous system and our health. Through the yogic disciplines we will create space for the nervous system to discharge unwanted and stuck energy and give it a chance to rebalance and restore itself.

Surrounded by stunning nature and the elements this retreat will take you completely out of your everyday and will be a breath of fresh air in every way. We will eat organic and delicious food prepared mindfully with great care. You will be nourished from the inside out.

We will move dynamically mobilising and working the body in healthy and mindful ways. The morning asana practice will be heated and fun. Expect to move creatively and be playful, exploring new shapes and expanding the body. In the evening the practice will be Yin yoga – where poses will be held, each like a mini-meditation, allowing the body to discharge fully.

Our intention is for you to leave feeling more connected to your body and self; and to feel lighter and freer in mind and body.

The retreat takes place in an estate with a private manor house that dates back to the 17th century with recent reconstruction bringing you all the comforts of modern contemporary life. This rural property is set in 17 hectares of gorgeous, green and natural scenery. The house is exclusively for our guests on this retreat. The property includes comfortable en-suite bedrooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis court and a lake. A Yoga Shala is surrounded by the gardens and provides a dedicated place for your daily yoga practice.

If you wish to come for the exact dates we are encouraging everyone to fly in and out of Vigo in Spain as the flights are great value. Vigo is a little over an hour from the manor house.

The house is located in the oldest village of Portugal, Ponte de Lima, known for its exclusive production of Vino Verde wine. The house is a 1 hour drive from Porto.

Our chef and team offer a creative and special Mediterranean cuisine using products of the highest quality with local, organic and seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Starts from 775 euros and includes all meals, group transfer from airport, all yoga, accommodation and organic wine.

Not included: flights and transfer outside of group
