On our 8 day yoga in Kerala retreat we will immerse ourselves in a whole range of relaxing activities, including optional morning and evening yoga in the purpose built shaded yoga shala overlooking the sea. Morning walks along Northern Kerala’s swathes of almost deserted, white sandy beaches.
As a group we can enjoy peaceful boat rides watching the abundant wildlife in Kerala’s northern backwaters, dine in the open air on wonderful freshly prepared Keralan and Southern Indian cuisine and swim in the blood warm waters of the Arabian Sea and the resort’s gorgeous pool.
We practice yoga twice a day in the morning and late afternoon in the shaded yoga shala set in among the palm trees overlooking the sea. There is also opportunity for meditation on the tranquil shores of the Arabian Sea watching the setting sun.
The yoga classes will comprise the spectrum between slow flow and deeply restorative yoga gently and yin. You can do as much or as little as you please.
The 10 yoga practices arranged throughout the week will be of varying lengths and content. There is never any pressure for guests to take part in every yoga class and non-participating partners are most welcome on the holidays.
The morning yoga sessions on our Kerala yoga retreat will comprise more flowing yoga practices, with modifications offered to suit the individual levels of students. There will also be pranayama (breathing techniques) and guided meditation and relaxation. The late afternoon/ early evening yoga classes will include a slower asana practice, with some poses held longer for deepening, yin yoga, gentle and restorative sessions, again with pranayama, guided relaxations, yoga nidra and meditations.
Establish a daily practice and immerse in mantra, pranayama, kriya, meditation, contemplation and journaling. Take in two hours of asana each morning followed by yin or restorative at night. Rest by the pool or attend optional study modules throughout the day. This can be an extended 12 day retreat or a 100-hour qualification. For students, teachers and anyone interested in the path of awakening.
Cocooned amongst the rice paddies, The Shala Bali will be our immersion home for 12 special days. Remote, but close enough to central Ubud, it is pure peace and quiet. The jungle comes alive, as the sun rises, and the days float by amongst the dragonflies, ducks, geckos and birds.

Samavesa was conceived by Margherita Dal Pra and Collette Davis. Two yoga teachers, born on the same day, few years apart. We met on a 300 hour TT with Sianna Sherman in Berlin and came together out of a shared desire to support yoga students and teachers in their own inquiry, process and practice.

Suryalila is a fabulous yoga retreat centre located on the site of an ancient olive oil factory in the heart of Andalusia, Spain. Suryalila is a composite of two Sanskrit words. Surya refers to the ancient sun god and lila means cosmic play (of the gods). Together the words mean “Cosmic Play of the Sun”.
The renovated Spanish Pension and olive plantation overlook rolling hills covered in shimmering fields of wheat and golden sunflowers. They offer a wide variety of accommodations to suit all budgets from glamping in the olive grove to deluxe double rooms with private bathrooms.
The majority of the food is organic and home-grown in the beautiful permaculture gardens onsite. The head gardener is always very happy to give an educational tour. Yoga Retreat at a lovingly restored cognac estate near Bordeaux.
Maison de la Vaure is a former cognac estate that has been lovingly restored with a beautiful yoga studio that leads out onto a private heated pool. It is set on a gorgeous secluded hilltop near Bordeaux. The accommodation is based across 3 properties on the 4 acre estate, La Maison, La Petite Maison and La Longere. There are a mix of rooms varying from large en-suite doubles to smaller twin rooms with shared bathrooms.
Every morning practice on this retreat will start with a strong yet slow alignment based flow to help build strength, stability and flexibility. The evening practice will be nourishing, healing and more restoring with a mixture of yin or restorative classes.

Yobaba Lounge, Location and Food
We will be staying at award winning retreat centre in a medieval village in the foothill of the Mediterranean Pyrenees in Southern France. The house is a bohemian village chateau with a walled garden. It feels like a temple. The yoga shala overlooks the medieval roof tops and greets the morning sun. Food at Yobaba Lounge is a big deal – it is free from processed sugar, wheat, dairy, meat and fish, much of it raw, some of it cooked, all of it beautiful and delicious.

Join Joyce and Marcos for a weekend of Ashtanga Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Meditation in a beautiful and peaceful setting. As part of the weekend everyone will receive a 50 minute treatment (massage or reflexology) to help relax and alleviate mental and physical tension.
There will be a Mysore style class on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday morning. Monday morning will be a led class or Mysore class, depending on the group. There will be two late afternoon sessions of restorative yoga and meditation.
This venue is idyllic. It’s directly opposite a lake that you can swim in (and then warm up in the hot tub afterwards), there is access to breath taking walks, a beautiful yoga space that looks out to the countryside and it’s a hop, skip and a jump away from Grasmere and its infamous gingerbread shop.

FINCA DEL ALAMO
The venue consists of the main house (Finca), which won awards in the 80’s for its striking modernist design. It sits in the semi-desert landscape amid lush gardens, its architecture echoing ancient Mediterranean civilisations. It has long been a stylish, bohemian family home, also an exotic venue for photo shoots. It has now been adapted to cater for yoga groups.
The outlying Cortijo (farm) buildings have been converted in the original local style into charming accommodation, located a couple of hundred yards from the main house. The Cortijo has its own swimming pool and a covered outdoor yoga space.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the price, delicious, healthy and freshly prepared. Meals are vegetarian by default, but if requested one or two meals with fish or chicken can be arranged during the week.
