Cool Down with Peppermint Essential Oil By Karen Clayton

During the summer when the weather is warm your feet can feel hot, tired and achy. Try these quick recipes for a foot spray or massage oil and enjoy the benefits of peppermint which has a cooling, refreshing action.

Cooling foot spray

If you are out and about in the heat of the summer it is great to have this handy bottle of cooling foot spray in your bag.

50 mls – Rose Water (hydrolat)
8-10 drops – Peppermint essential oil
Glass bottle with spray attachment

Add the peppermint oil drops to the rose water and shake thoroughly, also shake before each use. When you are at home keep it in the fridge for an even more refreshing feeling!

Reviving foot and leg massage oil

To help relieve hot, tired legs and feet massage a small amount of the oil using upward strokes, then sit back and enjoy as you feel your feet cool down and your legs relax.

50 mls – Sweet Almond oil or Grapeseed oil
6 drops – Peppermint essential oil
6 drops – Lavender essential oil
Glass bottle with a tight fitting screw top lid

Add all the ingredients to the glass bottle and shake until mixed. If you have a nut allergy, use the grapeseed oil.

Both spray and oil should be kept out of sunlight and used within three months.
