Children’s Teachers
The Life Centre uses a range of excellent teachers and companies to provide our inspiring children’s activities. All are fully qualified, insured, first aid trained and hold current enhanced disclosure Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks. Where possible, we are fortunate to have voluntary class assistants to help with the smooth running and enjoyment of the classes. All our volunteers are also CRB checked.
Our teachers are:
Sherina Stewart - Master Chefs
Sherina is a trained actress, singer and yoga teacher. Over the past 10 years she has enjoyed teaching art, singing and drama to children of all ages. She is thrilled to be leading the Master Chefs class as her earliest memory was the desire to bake!
Lionel from Club Petit Pierrot
Lionel is a native French speaker who was trained following the Club Petit Pierrot methods and programme and has been working at Club Petit Pierrot since last year. The lessons are totally in French and Lionel is a dynamic and caring teacher. The lessons have a structured routine which allows the children to feel at ease and confident to interact in French.
Portia from Sing and Sign
Bring your little one to The Life Centre for Children, to learn signing the fun way. A lively, inspiring, musical session with puppets and instruments, from the well known company; 'Sing and Sign'.
Nancy from Whippersnappers
Nancy Leeming trained and worked in Theatre Design and the Visual Arts before joining Whippersnappers in 2002. By this time she had begun to develop her talents and experience in delivering activities for children and young people with Special educational needs and Disability. Whippersnappers gave Nancy the opportunity to build upon her two great loves 'The Arts' and 'Children'.
Nancy holds a post graduate certificate in the Therapeutic and Educational application of the arts as well as currently training for NVQ 3 play work, she manages a department within her organisation that provides inclusive play provision for children with profound special needs and disability as well as continuing to teach arts in schools and under 5's music workshops. She is to Maya aged 9.
